Organizational Restructuring, Reorganization, and Strategic Planning (RRSP)

Mapping current roles and responsibilities of staff members and highlighting overlaps or inefficiencies
CLIENT

Increasingly, boards and CEOs are recognizing that one of their primary roles is to assess their executive talent and then do what they must to develop both the individual executives or high potentials and the executive team as a whole. In the past, boards have focused more on the strategic direction of the company and on the company’s financial performance, but they have come to realize that without the talent to drive a strategy successfully, no strategy has merit. The Roman poet Seneca said that if you don’t know which port you are making for, no wind is the right wind. He might have added that if you don’t have the talent to set the sails and steer the ship, then no wind, however great it might be, will take you to your chosen port.
An essential part of RRSP is getting input and buy-in for the process and potential resulting changes. Gathering information on overall feelings and opinions about work assignments, responsibilities, challenges, and recommendations for improving work conditions are key steps.
Mapping current roles and responsibilities of staff members and highlighting overlaps or inefficiencies in the workflow and teams are critical initial steps. This role mapping will directly inform the staff realignment process, revision of job descriptions and creation of organizational charts to facilitate the continued success of an organization.

The coaching sessions were designed to:
CLIENT

Next Step Associates, in 2022-2023, provided two, successful, 20-week, robust trainings in an environment that was respectful, professional, and exposed participants to content and experiences in the following areas: academic skills, work-ready preparation, practical life skills, professional development, assessments of their gifts, talents, and expertise, work-ready intelligence, conflict resolution strategies, trauma healing skills, resume writing, interviewing strategies, an introduction to executive functioning skills, team building exercises, personal financing/budgeting, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The sessions were delivered in a multi-media format to accommodate different learning styles and where appropriate, additional time was provided for individuals to become proficient in specific subjects and/or experiences. Each week began with recaps of the previous session and always concluded with a summary to ensure that the information was understood.
Another hallmark of that training was weekly sessions with coaches. Once a week, Philly Future Track Program (PFTP) participants worked with coaches in small groups and one-on-one coaching sessions.
